So I’ve said that I’ll be getting full of myself and getting full of myself I shall.
The name’s Wendy, surname’s Wong, last name’s Seow Wen. So that’s makes me Wendy Wong Seow Wen.

I was born on the 14th of December in 1988 so that makes me a 19 year old Dragon and also a Sagittarius. My family consists of my parents, two elder brothers and 6 pets that comprises of three dogs and three cats. Wonder how they manage to live in harmony? It’s values I’ve developed throughout the years of keeping pets – Patience and Loving.

I hail from a small but humble and famous town called Ipoh (White Coffee, Hor Fun, Heong Peah) where I’ve spent a majority of 17 years of my life striving to figure myself out as a human, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a student and most important of all, as myself.

After completing my SPM stint in high school which I’m very proud to score A1′s in my favourite subjects; English, Bahasa Melayu and Science, equally proud to pass the subjects that I loathe; Mathematics, History and satisfied with subjects that I don’t give a rats ass about; Economics, Commerce, Malay Literature, and Moral, I embarked on a new phase of my education life which is college! My parents insists that I stay in high school and pursue Form 6 but of course being the headstrong one in the family, I knew very well I wanted to pursue Mass Communication in college. So after a whirlwind turbulence (of constant arguments and emo-ing) that lasted for almost 4 months, I was granted the wish and I strongly insisted that I’d go to KDU College so I chose the Penang Campus since it’s nearer to my hometown, living expenses is cheaper (partially supported by my eldest bro!), my apartment is 5 minutes away from Gurney Plaza and not forgetting, the food galore in Penang! (not forgetting that I hate Kuala Lumpur, I don’t know why but I just loathe going there.)

I’ve completed 3 semesters so far, having studied subjects like Media Research Methods, Principles of Public Relations, Introduction To Film Studies, Introduction To Sociology, Principles of Advertising, Public Speaking Skills et al. and I’m actually on the Honor Roll for Top Scorers! Never in my 2kg brain I would think that I would be a top scorer! Well,I’m about to begin my 4th semester which I personally think, is BAD SHIT. Honestly, I am scared to death! (I’ll elaborate in future entries)

What about my likings? Well, for starters, as a Malaysian, I’m more inclined towards non-Malaysian cuisines although I do love the whole mamak culture with the Nasi Kandar (especially in Penang!), Roti Canai and the 24 hours facillity! I can seriously go through a week by just having stuffs like cereal, energy bars, pasta, oats, wholemeal, all those Western stuff. I’m not despising the Malaysian cuisine but it’s just my preference, no pun intended. I’m allergic to food that contains preservatives, colouring, emulsifiers, and the baddest of them all, monosodium glutamate plus I’m allergic to heavenly food like chocolate, milk, cheese and candy! (guess I should just have plain porridge for the rest of my life) I get rashes and major breakouts when I’m having allergies and I can get really really sick! Bummer, I’m not meant to indulge in food!

I’m not the social butterfly I thought I’d be. Most of my time is spent at home which my mum rambles about all the time and when I do go out often, she rambles about it all the time too. Nothing pleases her. Eversince I’ve been in Penang, I’ve been more outgoing, spending most of my time socializing on MSN as well as going out with my new found friends to malls and lately, I’ve been frequently visiting GSC during the weekdays (just because student price is applicable and less people throngs GSC during weekdays) and I must say, watching flicks at the theater is really worth paying 5bucks for!

So what’s next, my heritage? At first glance, I look like a mixture of Chinese and Everything Not Chinese but I assure you, I’m 100% Chinese! (I’m often mistaken as a Japanese, Korean and an Ang Moh) Other than my features, what’s not very Chinese about me is the ability of grasping dialects. I speak Cantonese fluently but that’s just about all I’m fluent in, my Mandarin (hai ker yi bah), my Hokkien (lu beh hiao ting wa kong Hokkien), my Hakka (no idea), my Teo Chew (no idea too). So yea, I can say I’m a pathetic Chinese since my dad is a Teochew lang and my mum is a Hakka moi and yet, the offspring is clueless about both sides!

To end, I think I’ll end my entry with some trivias.

  • I did ballet when I was 4 and stopped when I was 16

  • Has a teddy bear named Gregory (after.. you guessed it!)

  • Diagnosed with minor OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)
  • Favourite food is fish, potato, ramen, cereal, lamb (Chilli’s! TGIF!)
  • Has bad alcohol & caffeine tolerance (but ignores it all the time)
