Fortuitous.
Yea, that’s the word. I never thought blogging would have such an impact in my life. I never saw it coming at all. I remembered starting up my blog in 2004, back when I was in Form 4 and I would blog about the silliest thing ever but back then, my blog was shortlived. I was stuck with my diary, something I hold near and dear to my heart. 3 years pass by, my blog was left in oblivion and at one point, something struck me. It was like a jolt of lightning of some sort, like the light bulb above my head just lit. I was like, hey blogging is so fun! Why not blog again! So I did my first entry, and soon another and then another. I soon realized that, blogging has become one of my mean of escapism. It’s like writing my own diary but in this case, it’s not as organicly simple as a hard cover book.
With a blog, I get to post in pictures and use fancy colours to paint my entries. But one thing that got to me is that, there isn’t much privacy in blogging. Your entries are for public viewing. It scares me because, I’m not the type of person who would like people to know that I’m feeling vulnerable or helpless till I have to blog it out just to let people know. I have my own walls up for a reason. I’ve been blogging for about, 4 months plus now. I’m really happy with how things are because being a blogger, I get to meet and know so many acquaintances cum friends who I’d never thought I would come across.
Especially with ShoutOut. Man, it is so addictive that it’ll make you glue yourself to your seat and just shout all day! For me, I’m not that addictive YET but I guess from the current circumstances, I might just be an addict! But this addiction is a good one, for me at least. Say, I get to know so many new friends with ShoutOut. Indeed, it’s pretty daunting to just chat up with strangers that you’d never came across with but, suprisingly it came naturally for me to blend in with the ShoutOut family. Whenever I’m bored or restless, all I need to do is access my blog and just say hi in ShoutOut, everyone greets you!
In ShoutOut, it’s not hard to chat up a storm, especially with such diversed and dynamic personalities within the conversations. And mostly the best thing ever with ShoutOut is, everyone is as real while shouting as they are in real life! And through ShoutOut; strangers become acquaintances, acquaintances become friends, friends become close friends and close friends becomes family members!
Shouters would meet up frequently for outings and a must-do for every outing is to take family photos! In a way, it documents the bond we have as a family and another, it makes us realize that we are a family! Not related by blood but a close bond, where we care for each other as though as we’re family, for real.
I remembered, 3 nights ago was the day I finished my final examination. I was emo-ing throughout the day and at night time, I made a (brash) decision to go to the beach. Alone at 10pm. Before I went, I already told the shouters that I would be going. So throughout my time at the beach, a few of them messaged me to check on me. I was touched as well as a little bit annoyed la, people wanna relax then got people keep sms-ing buat kacau! So I was there till 1am or so, but then right at the time I left, one of the shouters were looking for me at the beach as he was sent by the other shouters because they were dead worried about me. It got me to think, wow these people actually really cares for me! I mean, I known them for like such a short period and they exude such care for someone they barely knew! I was very touched and when I got home, I read through the ShoutOut History. I was so guilt stricken that I just stood there dumbfounded. They hentam me cukup cukup alright, warning me not to go to the beach alone again or else there will be severe consequences.
