I’m just glad that all the hectic filming, video editing, meetings, project discussions are OVER.
And it started off with a good 14 hours of sleep, I felt like I just won a battle or something, heh! =)
Anyhow, last weekend I was back in Ipoh, I had a mini food trip around Ipoh. (for the umpteenth time)
I started off my day with breakfast, Hakka style! (a little tribute to my mum’s heritage!)

I wonder why the dumpling is in pink, but it tasted damn nice though!

In case you don’t know what’s this, it’s Lui Cha. Literally translated as Thunder Tea.
It’s actually a mixture of blended greens, boiled with chicken stock and then strained to make a vegetable soup.

And you serve the soup with this mixture of Lui Cha capalangs,
there’s rice, spring onions, roasted peanuts, and a mixture of preserved and fresh vegetables.
It’s really really good I tell you, especially if you’re a lover for greens.

Plus I had some side dishes of Yong Tau Foo, Hakka style of course! The meat paste within was really nice,
it was a mixture of fish and pork together so it was smooth yet chewy to the tastebuds.
I drove to the hawker stalls under a gigantic tree in Pasir Puteh for more food.
When you enter the place through the front entrance the first thing you will see is this.

Yea more Yong Tau Foo, and it’s prepared fresh on the spot! They sell like hotcakes I tell you.
And I must give a prior warning, be prepared to wait for a freakin’ long time if you come during lunch.

So yea, I had more of these, I seem like I can’t get enough of Yong Tau Foo.
But it’s good food, so what the heck eh.

And I had laksa too, it was nice but I still prefer the one in Air Itam, Penang.
But one thing I find different about the laksa in Ipoh compared to Penang is, the noodle.

You see, the noodle here is more tangy and transparent where else Penang’s laksa noodle is more soft but still chewy.

And I had porridge too, which also sells like hotcakes. What’s up with people and Ipoh food eh?
I’d tell you, I went home feeling super stuffed, like I had ate to last me like, 3 days in advance? Fuhhh!
And this time, it’s much more of those typical Chinese restaurant dishes.

First up, vegetables is a must, I’d seriously kill myself if I don’t vegetables even for a day.

We had this too, I’m not much of a prawn fan because I’m kinda lazy to peel of the shell but it’s nice.
Buttery- salty-chewy-tangy-aromatic whatever you call it, it’s good.

And my favourite dish of all, Fish! A meal for me is never complete when there’s no fish.
This one was very nice, and can you see the teeth of the fish? Scary I tell you, thank god it’s a deadfish!
who wants to join me for an eating spree in Ipoh?
Come come, I’ll be your tourguide!
Right now, I’m looking forward for more hanging out sessions, and my Genting trip! Fly baby fly~
