Well as I’ve said in my previous post, I would be working in Zouk for OK! mag instead of being stuck in the office on Wednesday and it was a super duper long day that I wouldn’t really wanna experience it again! Seriously, from 9am, packing over 500 goodies bags, unloading stuffs such as banners, buntings, and alot of stuffs that you can ever imagine at an event, then to proceed to getting all dolled up for the event.
For me, I initially wanted to just put up a LBD a.k.a Little Black Dress and just have my hair up in a ponytail but no, I gatal and went to the Redken Styling Bar available at the event to get my hair done. For free la of course, have them seeing me with the All Access & Crew pass was definitely a bonus! So I went there and, hello can you fix my hair? And so the gay guy or so I think he’s gay said, “Sure! Just have a seat and let me do the rest!” I was like.. “Hmm okay, continue to stare at my hair in the mirror.”
And within minutes he was like “baking” my hair and the hairspray was the yeast. Within minutes, my straight flat hair went to poofed up bird nest with tons of bobby pins stuck in it. I was like, “Err can my hair not be that high up ar?” and the stylist goes “Don’t worry, just let me finish!” And fine, I just sat there let him poof it up even more and off I go, but I did get good compliments from people saying I looked nice which, I beg to differ!
So fine, with my hair all baked I prepared to work. There I was on the red carpet waiting for the celebrities and media people to approach me and get their special stamp on for unlimited access. Well, I’ve liked a few local celebs before but after seeing their stereotypical i-am-a-celebrity attitude, sorry la I no longer suka you. I got to stamp people like, Jien, Will Quah, Daphne Iking, Belinda Chee, Rina, Phat Fabes, Hans Isaac, Andy Azwin, Stephanie Chai, Deborah Henry, Serena C, Pietro and basically all those famous Malaysians la. Boohoo like I care la, celebrity so what.
I was smart though, before the night ended I already made my way home avoiding the task of cleaning up which is not a very good job as there’s like so manyyyyyy stuffs to be packed. Although, I did clear off some goodie bags and it’s now nicely tucked in my room! Hahaha, and speaking of goodie bags, OMG la the perks of being a celebrity. I was packing and I was literally drooling over their stuffs, Braun Buffel sunglasses, Redken range of shampoos, conditioner, and everything your hair needs, skincare product that’s worth like 600bucks, few hundred bucks worth of vouchers and so many more I’ve lost count. Damn you people, I’d work and buy those stuffs with my hard earned money! Heh!
And to end this post, I would like to say, it was definitely an experience for me although, I don’t fancy this kinda job. Thank god I met Mike and Josh and I had Patrick and Keith to hangout all night but at the end they all left me sitting alone in the celebrity area with my furry white fan. Sigh. Hugo ahhhhhh!
