I’m slowly.. and surely starting to pack for Taiwan. It’s a month long trip so I’m trying to bring everything I need instead of my entire closet. It’s not easy because I have to pack extra for winter! As opposed to the freaking hot summer while I was there last August, it is now winter! Not exactly snow winter cold, but still cold at about 15 degrees to 22 degrees on average. Plus, I’m not a winter person. I hate hate hate cold, especially when I have to shower in the cold. Can’t stand the idea of my teeth tattering in the cold.
The gesture of me leaving Malaysia for a month also means that I’m leaving my cat alone for a month.
I will miss him much, even while I was away to KL for a week last week I was missing him like crazy. I love how he would snuggle up to me while I’m sleeping at night.
There’s just something about this cat that’s unique and totally weird.
He is a cat, that doesn’t like fish. Yes, FISH. I can throw a slab of raw fish at him and he would just sniff it and walk away. Not even a bite! Hence, my mother is always relieved to cook fish at home without having to cat proof it. Unlike while I still had Lim Ah Meow, no fish is safe from the ultimate fish cat. For those who doesn’t know, Lim Ah Meow is gone as she had severe diarrhea and purging that I had to let her go. So back to the original story, yes I will be leaving my baby boy for a month and I’m very apprehensive. He has urinary tract infection and it’s not severe, and it is very common for adult male cats and Jamie is 3 years old in human years. Thankfully, he does not refrain from me and my mum feeding him water and cranberry juice with a syringe. In fact, he’s very obedient when it comes to people feeding him.
He’s getting better now and I hope he doesn’t do anything crazy throughout my absence. My mum has asked a good neighbour lady of ours to take care of him while we are away and I think he will be fine because my neighbour loves him like a son. It’s very sweet to see an old lady interacting with a cat like a mother with child.
I am still in the midst of packing, actually more like sorting out the clothes I need. I don’t plan to bring a lot as I have the utmost intention to shop there.
Plus I needed to bring fancier clothes instead of just warmers as it’s Chinese New Year and I will be attending dinners or functions with my family, so it’s best to dress to the occasion.
I am looking forward to rock the beanie, gloves, sweater and boots look. Something that I have been eager to try out! I am bringing my lovely red Samsonite giant and it’s going to be quarter full to make space for me to bring things back when I’m flying home!
Although I won’t be seeing Hugo for a month but I’ll be bringing my laptop over to keep me sane in Taiwan so I guess we could Skype or Video Chat via Gmail.
Since we are on a long distance relationship anyways this wouldn’t really be a problem at all.
♥ Wendy
